KYDAC (KD Acrylic-PVC Alloy Plate) is a product of SUMITOMO BAKELITE Co., Ltd. It’s an acrylic-modified, high-impact, polyvinyl chloride sheet that combines excellent impact resistance, chemical resistance, and moldability. In terms of Izod impact strength (unit: J/m) reference values, ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) resin has a strength of 200, while KYDAC has a strength of 780, boasting close to four times the strength of ABS resin. In addition, KYDAC has excellent flame retardancy, which is important for fuel lids, and is self-extinguishing (JISK6911 Flame Resistance Method A), and it is certified to the particularly strict UL standards (UL94, V-0, and 5-V).
The excellent material allows it to be molded thinly while maintaining its strength, and the fit is perfect. Because the material is thin, the lid does not interfere with the body when opening and closing. KYDAC is also highly weather resistant, and has the same texture as the original SUZUKI front and rear bumpers. Due to its excellent weather resistance, painting is not required, but you can paint it if you like and install it as well.
We can add separately sold Fuel Caution Decals in the photos. Three colors are available: black, white, and yellow. The red color in the photos has been discontinued and is sold out.
