This guard covers the bottom of the rear differential case. Designed with a sled shape with high skid properties, it helps slide over obstacles when driving forward. The shape covers only the front part, so there is almost no reduction in ground clearance. New specifications were introduced in 2018, making it easier to install using only bolts.
Note: The lower part of Jimny's differential case is relatively strong, but the outside material (rear side of the rear differential case) is a bit thin. The differential ring gear may be damaged if it hits a rock when reversing the Jimny during intense off-road driving. This is a product that helps prevent damage to the differential case and is effective in overcoming obstacles due to skidding during general off-road driving. However, it may not be able to fully protect the differential case during intense off-road adventures where the differential case hits the ground frequently and violently. For serious off-roading where the differential case hits the ground hard, we recommend the KUDO JIDOSHA Differential Guard. Also, if you wish to cover the differential widely from all directions, we recommend SPIELER Differential Cover.
