This is a re-manufactured alternator, but more than just a re-manufactured one. It is an upgraded one that has high performance with increased electrical output. This high-performance alternator is a Segment Conductor Alternator, a new type of alternator using a segment conductor for the coil, which is different from a round-shaped conventional leading wire. The output of the original SUZUKI product is 80A, but this product is an upgraded version with 120A. Because it produces a lot of electrical power, it is recommended for vehicles with additional light bars or fog lights, or vehicles equipped with a winch. In addition, because it supplies electrical power quickly and stably, it also has the effect of improving engine response, fuel efficiency, and audio quality. Made in Japan.
The Segment Conductor (SC) Alternator is a new type of high-performance alternator which uses a segment conductor for the coil, which is different from a round-shaped conventional leading wire. The characteristics of segment conductors lie in their coil winding method and the shape of the copper wire. Conventional alternators use coils wound with standard round copper wire, but segment conductors use square copper wire wound in a regular pattern. Making the copper wire square allows the wire to be wound more densely, reducing the coil's electrical resistance.
Another advantage of segment conductors is that the copper wire is wound in a shape that provides excellent ventilation, improving cooling. Since the heat generated when an alternator generates power leads to a decrease in power generation efficiency, effective cooling is also a factor that significantly affects alternator efficiency. As a result of these improvements, the latest segment conductor alternators reduce coil resistance compared to conventional types, while increasing power generation efficiency.
Segment conductor winding technology is now employed across the globe in many EVs as a foundational technology underpinning high performance and reliability in electric mobility. This product utilizes segment conductor winding technology to increase power generation capacity while reducing resistance.
In addition, the optional wrinkle paint finish models (+29,000 JPY) which increases resistance is also available. The wrinkle paint enabled metal surfaces to be both protected and achieve that custom crinkle look.
