This product is a set of SHOWA GARAGE X-Large Adjustable Bump Stops with aluminum brackets and mounting bolts to mount the Bump Stops inside the rear coil spring. They can be installed with just bolts, except that the rubber sheets of the coil springs need to be trimmed. These products are recommended for off-road racing or aggressive off-road driving. 

The Bump Stops are wider and 65mm longer than the original SUZUKI ones. They are made by SHOWA GARAGE, a pioneer of the extended, extra-large bump stop. The material and shape have been improved many times. They are high-quality, well-tested, and well-loved in Japan.

The SHOWA GARAGE X-Large Rear Adjustable Bump Stops Type 1, which can be installed outside of the rear coil springs, are also available. However, the axle housing moves in a complex manner such as both wheels compressing at the same time or only one side compressing and the other side extending. Therefore, depending on the touch angle of the axle housing, the axle housing may not touch the Bump Stops Type 1 straight and may deviate. In that case, the bump stops may not function, or in the worst case, they may even break off. These Bump Stops can be adjusted in length by cutting them short, so there is relatively no problem if you cut them short and use them. But it becomes a problem if you use them in long length without cutting them.

Also, it is structurally difficult to universally work various angles if the bump stops are installed on the outside of the coil springs. However, by installing the bump stops inside the coil springs, the coil springs support their position, and they will touch the axle housing straight under any circumstances. Even if they crack or break off due to repeated impacts, they will remain within the coil springs and will not lose their bump stop function unless they are shattered.

It is also possible to install both the Bump Stops Type 1 and this product Type 2 on the rear of a Jimny. In that case, it is possible to make the size 3-10 times larger than the original ones. By increasing the size significantly, the amount of compression of the bump stop is reduced, and the movement of the axle housing can be more firmly regulated. In addition to significantly increasing the shock absorption capacity, the repulsion due to the elasticity of the rubber is also reduced, and the shock absorption of the rear suspension will be very good.

If you adjust the inside of the coil spring ones longer and the outside ones shorter, it is possible to set it so that when both wheels bump, only the one inside the coil spring touches, and when only one wheel bumps, both the ones inside and outside of the coil spring touch. In addition, by shortening the outside, there is more room for the contact angle, and the durability of the bump stops on the outside is also improved.

There are three types: hard, soft, and super-soft. In normal cases, we recommend the super-soft type. When you are looking for comfort, the super-soft type is recommended. The super-soft type is also good for shock absorption for high jumps. We recommend using super-soft, especially for the rear axle for off-road driving. The hard type is recommended for those who need durability or want to limit suspension travel even more.
