This Limited Slip Differential is the ultimate traction device - "FINAL LSD" - which was developed for Jimny by TANIGUCHI and OS GIKEN’s breakthrough LSD technology “Super Lock LSD”! FINAL LSD will work very strongly only when you want it to work, while having all the comfort and operability of an open differential. This LSD has dominated the podium at many competitions as the best off-road LSD in Japan.

With the springs set in the direction that closes the pressure rings, it is nearly completely-silent and does not chatter even under low load. This product has an unprecedented number of discs: 2 sets of ten discs (L and R 10 discs; 20 discs total) for the rear and 2 sets of eight discs (L and R 8 discs; 16 discs total) for the front, which gives a very strong locking performance, a superior response during driving, and a natural torque distribution like a Helical LSD. The front has achieved an unprecedented finish so that while driving, the steering does not become heavy. Comes with bearings. Made in Japan.

With improved control performance, there is less disc friction and heat generation and less damage to oil and parts, resulting in an excellent long life. Even after a driving test of 150,000 km without maintenance, the LSD is in nearly brand new condition.
Note: Normally, it is recommended to change the oil once every 10,000 km. We recommend using the separately sold TANIGUCHI, OS GIKEN dedicated oil.

The only disadvantage of this product is the high price which is 50 % more expensive than a regular LSD. However, this product is highly durable, has a low maintenance cost, and has a long life. There is almost no need for periodic overhauls as there are with other mechanical LSDs. So in the long turn, you can enjoy high-performance LSD at the same cost as regular LSD.

* If the aftermarket driveshafts with 26 gears have been installed on your Jimny, we can change the side gear into the corresponding special model. (additional 18,200 JPY).
* Comes with additional rings to install on the front differential for JB32, 22, 12.


- PRESSURE RING -
This pressure ring houses OS GIKEN's patented lock timing system, where springs work in opposition of the torque being applied to the LSD. This results in a progressive, smooth, and quiet operation of the clutch discs within the differential. Furthermore, by modifying the spring rate, the rate of which the differential reaches full lock can be adjusted to driving styles.

- CAM ANGLE -
Unlike other manufacturers that utilize modular components, OS GIKEN's cams and pressure rings are manufactured as matching sets. Because the faces of the cams are ground exactly to match the application area of the pressure ring, torque transfer is smooth and consistent throughout the lock range.

- GEARS -
The unique “spline-through” side gears allows this LSD to house more clutch discs than traditional LSDs. Also, due to the relatively large size, it provides superior durability and torque transfer.

- CLUTCH DISCS -
The discs are precision-machined simultaneously on both sides to extremely tight tolerances to reduce flatness deviations and to eliminate the need to perform the tedious “figure 8” break-in period. By using as much as twice as many clutch discs than competing brands, this differential provides superior torque hold while also reducing the “clunkiness” of traditional clutch-type LSDs. This also results in enhanced durability and reduced wear as torque hold is spread out over a higher amount of friction surfaces.

- CASE -
The case and all components are constructed from a high-grade steel alloy and then chemically heat-treated for increased durability. The extra rigidity created ensures that the internal components stay within their tight tolerances, allowing the differential to function with watch-like precision.

Cam ring angles are set at 45 degrees forward and 3 degrees backward. When driving forward, it produces a very strong locking performance, but this LSD will not activate during deceleration or reversing. Ideal for speed competitions or everyday driving in deep snow areas. It is also effective in preventing the driveshaft from breaking due to the load when reversing.

- 2way Model -
All-round model with cam rings set at an angle of 45 degrees both forward and backward. Unlike conventional LSDs, the steering does not become heavy and the steering operation can be performed without any discomfort. In addition, it is also effective when reversing off-road.
